SPR
Stack-to-Pot Ratio — the effective stack divided by the pot as postflop play begins, measuring how much maneuvering room remains. Low SPR (around 3 or less) means commitment: top pair or an overpair is usually going all-in and cannot fold profitably. High SPR (10-plus) means big hands are required for big pots, and position and skill matter far more. SPR planning starts preflop — 3-betting is largely a tool for buying low-SPR pots with strong hands.
At the table
You 3-bet Q♠Q♦ and reach the flop with 40 in the pot and 90 behind — SPR about 2.25. On 9♦6♣2♠ the plan writes itself: the money goes in.
